Course information:

The FBU and it's accredited National Learning Centre, working in partnership with the LGA, Leeds City College and our team of tutors are offering this Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Exercise and Fitness to all FBU members and F&RS employees.

Overview

This 15 month apprenticeship programme consists of 5 individual qualifications, bringing together knowledge and competency based qualifications as well as the essential Maths and English Functional Skills which are required to perform the role of a personal trainer.

The individual programmes are:

Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing

Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training 

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Personal Training

Level 2 Functional Skills Maths

Level 2 Functional Skills English

Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning

 

Delivery

The course will be delivered in 15 monthly sessions within suitably equipped fire service classroom and gym facilities. consisting of classroom work and gym based activities, students will be supported by tutors to produce a portfolio of evidence which will be used to evidence their learning.

Fees

There are no fees for this course as the Fire Brigades Union Learning Centre has secured funding with our Learning Partners. Please ensure that when you enrol on this course you are committed to completing the programme of study and attending the compulsory tuition sessions. Should you not complete the course in full, you may be required to pay a fee to cover registration, administration fees and learning material costs. Funded places are subject to availability and are subject to the terms and conditions of our Further Education Partners

  13. Skills First English Level 2 Functional Skills Qualification
