Heat Illness Prevention and Awareness (HIPA)

THE FBU ULF Project have been successful in gaining funding from the Department for Education, via a Unionlearn scrutiny panel, to develop and produce a Heat Illness Prevention and Awareness (HIPA) learning package.

FBU ULR's and RELO's who attended FBU ULR School 2018 will be aware that we were keen to submit a bid for this learning package and we have been successful with it.

We are now working with the University of Brighton and Beach Design on the creation and production of three main elements:

  • A PowerPoint presentation which will be available to all F&RS's, firefighters and managers
  • A bespoke, state of the art e-learning module containing 360 degree animations, illustrations, videos and modular reviews of  more in-depth knowledge and research
  • An accredited Level 2 distance learning qualification in Heat Illness Prevention and Awareness

We will release details on each element of production but we hope to have the whole package available by July 2019 with some elements available earlier in the new year.
