The New Year is upon us already and if you are looking for a new challange our Distance Learning Courses are proving very popular, especially our Mental Health Awareness Level 2 Course and our new addition the N.C.F.E level two course in Awareness of Individuals with Autism. In addition we are pleased to offer our Nutrition and Health Course to Learners awaiting news on the Level 3 Personal Training Apprenticeships .You can enrol on many of our courses between now and April and our popular Mental Health Awareness Course between now and March

The Union Learning role is to promote Lifelong Learning throughout the North East to all FBU members, friends and family, to Fire Authority employees and their families and to Community groups and initiatives
Through our partnerships, with Fire and Rescue Services and Education Providers, we aim to offer different courses throughout the academic year, August to July including the functional skills of literacy, numeracy and IT up to and including Level 2
Our Learning Centre Staff and Project Support Organisers can also provide Information, Advice & Guidance to help you make the right decision on accessing new learning opportunities. If you are not sure about your first step back into learning or need help making the right decision about your next course or qualification then we can help you; we can also provide information that will help guide you to the right learning provider. Just contact our National Learning Centre Staff or your local Project Support Organiser, Ian Dick on 07917 031847 and we will make sure you are informed of all options available.
For local support and guidance you can contact your ULR's, Learning Champions, RELO or PSO.In Tyne and Wear we have Russ King our R.E.L.O. , in Durham Dave Welsh and his team are on hand and in Cleveland our support is provided by Alec Johnson and his team .In Northumberland we have the Learning Centre and base for P.S.O. Ian Dick but would welcome the recruitment of new learning champions and ULRs to assist us with the delivery of our courses.
We are also able to provide training and education for reps on FBU and TUC education courses and you can contact your RELO , branch, brigade or regional officials.

In Region Three in 2016/17 we are actively recruiting Union Learning Reps (ULR's,) and Learning Champions for all workplaces to help with the advertising and distribution of learning opportunities and qualifications.
Cleveland and Durham & Darlington also now have new ULR's in place but we are always looking for more volunteers .
