In all Brigades in Region 4 we are looking actively to bring new ULRs and Learning Champions on board to improve and sustain our position as the only Union with an accredited Learning Centre with support networks throughout the country. In the past Region 4 has proved a hotbed of learning opportunity and we hope to carry on the good work into 2020/21 and are establishing more links in North and South Yorkshire and Humberside, and consolodating learning opportunities in West Yorkshire, This is despite the government decision to withdraw our funding from 31/03/21
Our Twitter page is up and running so come and visit us and see what we are up to on a daily basis.
If you would like a visit to your Station or workplace to find out more about our Courses contact PSO ian Dick at ian.dick@fbu.org.uk or 07917031847. At present this is difficult due to Covid restrictions but please contact me via e mail

Regarding our Personal Training Apprenticeship we rely on funding from the Apprenticeship Levy held by Brigades/FRS so if you are interested in our state of the Art Apprenticeship you need to lobby your local officials, your Managers and join the hundreds of successsful Learners who have benifited from this Course. We are looking to provide a fantastic course having learned from feedback on previous cohorts in Brigades all over the Country-it's hard work but well worth the effort.
We also have H.I.P.A. or Heat Illness Prevention Awareness with a Power point presentation already available to Watches , Stations and Brigades. (ask your local officials or Managers or simply contact PSO Ian Dick). We also be provide an E Learning Platform and a level 2 course is being piloted in FRS . , largely due to the work of the project alongside Brighton University and our IT friends at Beech Design. We are comiitted to providing the most up to date information and education for our Members, Fire Authorities, our families and friends and will continue to look for innovative educational opportunities for FBU Members.
The Government backs ULRs with statutory rights for time off and through the Union Learning Fund (ULF) gives hard cash for learning initiatives in the workplace although this may be compromised in 2021
